Sample development is a significant part of the production process — pattern making, material sourcing, and manufacturing time all go into producing a single sample, regardless of whether it leads to a production order. The terms below reflect that.
100% of the quoted sample development cost is due in advance, before work begins.
In addition to the sample cost, a commitment deposit of 5% / $300 (whichever is greater) is collected at the same time as payment.
Each sample includes 2 rounds of revisions against the approved tech pack. Additional revision rounds beyond this are billed at 50% of the original sample cost, per round.
Sample development typically takes 20 business days from payment confirmation and finalized specifications, depending on garment complexity. Timelines may vary for highly technical or multi-component garments.
Shipping and freight, customs duties, and any fabric sourced outside our standard supplier options are billed separately from the quoted sample cost.
The commitment deposit is refunded, not forfeited, if we fail to deliver a sample matching the approved tech pack specifications within the included revision rounds, or if the delay in reaching a production decision is caused by us rather than the client.
Once fully paid, the physical sample and its associated pattern belong to the client.
Sampling involves real technical work and manufacturing time on our side, whether or not it results in production. These terms ensure that time is compensated fairly, and that clients who move forward to production are rewarded for doing so through the deposit credit.
Share your tech pack and we'll come back with sample cost, deposit amount, and timeline.
